Identifying the Cracks in the Healthcare Ecosystem

During my decade-long tenure with the NHS, I witnessed significant inefficiencies that hindered optimal patient care. Outdated technology and overwhelmed staff created an environment where evidence-based interventions struggled to produce consistent, impactful outcomes. A critical challenge was the fragmented nature of clinical data—valuable patient information was often lost in filing cabinets, buried within legacy electronic health record (EHR) systems, or scattered across spreadsheets. This disorganization resulted in a severe shortage of real-world health outcomes data, essential for driving innovation and informing policy.

The Rise of the Informed Health Consumer

In parallel with these systemic challenges, I observed a shift in patient behavior. Empowered by technology, patients began taking a more active role in managing their health. Gadgets like smartwatches and a plethora of health supplements became commonplace, yet this surge in health awareness often led to trial-and-error approaches. Patients frequently made critical health decisions without clear, evidence-based guidance, underscoring the urgent need for a more integrated and data-driven approach to healthcare.

Founding WeCudos: A Solution Rooted in Experience

In response to these challenges, I founded WeCudos in 2012, investing £600,000 of my own resources to develop technology products aimed at enhancing data transparency and efficiency in healthcare. Our mission was clear: to create a health system that leverages data to improve outcomes for all stakeholders.

To ensure our solutions were grounded in real-world needs, we engaged over 10,568 health professionals. This extensive collaboration ensured that our platform was not only technologically advanced but also practical and user-friendly for everyday healthcare providers and their patients.
